This Book summarizes the infinite beauty, richness and wilderness of Antarctica. AS the common heritage of humankind, this continent deserves the protection of its highly vulnerable ecosystems.

The author has spent an extraordinary time in the Southern Ocean and Antarctica in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Along with many scientists passionate about nature, his goal is to protect the sensitive ecosystems and environment of Antarctic.

This work also describes the beginnings of the Antarctic research and polar science in Turkey.

The Turkish Marine Research Foundation has played a crucial role in the development of these activities, both providing financial support and lobbying for the advancement of polar science in Turkey.

The author asserts that this continent and its adjacent marine ecosystems should be designated as a marine protected area forever.
